Chocolate Babka – My first ever Youtube video inspired by this Chocolate Gem. Babka is a bread similar to Brioche, sweet, rich and light with a buttery flavor. Although I’ve eaten Babka quite a few times before, this was my first time making it. I was a bit intimidated at first starting this recipe but I was up for the challenge. Just like baking any other kind of bread you must be patience here. First things firsts, start with your dough (you’ll want to get this puppy done). Once that’s ready, let the dough rest (30 mins) – Listen to music, drink some water (lol)Read More →

Alfajores are indeed a Latin American staple its simple yet satisfying ,this cookie has its origins from Spain. However, every Latin American country has their own unique version on how to make their alfajor. Eating this cookie has always been a treat for me, I would usually have it at Peruvian restaurants and bakeries. Alfajores are sandwich cookies with a dulce de leche filling (sweetened condensed milk). The dulce de leche is filled between two sweet biscuits (cookies) and topped with a bit of powdered sugar. Alfajores are usually made with cornstarch which gives it a light texture and makes them super delicateRead More →

When you think of Miso what is the first thing that comes to mind ? For me its miso soup, savory delicious soup, not in a million years I thought of adding it into a cookie recipe. However whenever I see an ingredient it always tend to hit some sweet notes. Miso is fermented soybean paste a seasoning used in Japanese cuisine. The results are a thick paste that in my opinion has almost a nutty flavor to it, similar to a thick peanut butter. What better way to use it then in cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies of course. I cannot help that sweets areRead More →

I have found my love for bake cake doughnuts, they’re delicious and easier than fry ones. Making these are a breeze especially when you want to impress your family or friends. I decided on whipping up a batch of these bake doughnuts using sour cream. Sour cream added texture and gave me a more moist cake doughnut, plus I really didn’t want it to go to waste. These doughnuts were quick and easy they only took about 12 mins to bake. I used a mini cake doughnut pan and baked the doughnuts in batches. They can be baked in bigger doughnut pans as well.
