When you think of Miso what is the first thing that comes to mind ? For me its miso soup, savory delicious soup, not in a million years I thought of adding it into a cookie recipe. However whenever I see an ingredient it always tend to hit some sweet notes. Miso is fermented soybean paste a seasoning used in Japanese cuisine. The results are a thick paste that in my opinion has almost a nutty flavor to it, similar to a thick peanut butter. What better way to use it then in cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies of course. I cannot help that sweets areRead More →

Tonight’s dinner was pretty simple, I decided that I wanted to make Pizza. I don’t eat much Pizza so when I do it has to be good. But the best part of making it at home means that I can put anything I want on it. Its pretty much a blank canvas and I am the artist. I love to add mushrooms and veggies to my pizza, but I just could not resist putting some chorizo on it. First I made the dough and let it sit for 2 hours  in the oven, ”off” of course because its actually warm enough for the dough toRead More →

This year was the first time I went apple picking. Friends and I went to Warwick Orchards in NY where there were a great selection of many kinds of apples, pumpkins and beautiful animals. Warwick also offered Honey and yummy apple cider doughnuts.   I could totally feel my mouth watering as we got closer to the orchards, all that I could think of was stuffing my face with an apple cider doughnut. Of course I did and as we were ready to pose for a silly photo I got stung by an angry Bee! though my lip was swollen it did not stop meRead More →

Yes, you can have your cookie and eat it too! Thanks to the new phenomenon of Aquafaba (bean- water), which can be found in your pantry or you can make it at home. Vegans everywhere will be please, who said you couldn’t have a cookie that looks like it was made from egg whites ? Aquafaba can be used to make Vegan Mayo/whipped cream/meringues and so much more. Today I wanted to make meringues, I personally never made a Meringue Ever! Whats the worst that could happen I open up a can of chickpeas save it for lunch later and use the water. Well IRead More →

So lately the new trend has been “Vegan,” I personally did not know any Vegans until recently. I myself I’m not a Vegan but one of my very close friends “sister” if you will has adopted the Vegan diet and she did so for health reason. I respect the plant base diet and I know its a great thing to eat more of our vegetables and fruits and any other superfoods that we as humans may benefit from. For myself I have tried to make better choices in what I consume but every now and then I love to indulged in something sweet,Read More →

Limes not just for Margaritas!! Here I like my limes just a bit more sweeter, sweet like me. I really wanted to make a Key lime pie but lets be real who could find them at their local supermarkets? So I use the next best thing “Limes.” Limes are easy and can be found pretty much everywhere. I bought mine from my local supermarket and got about a pound of them. The cashier asked me if I was planning on making Margaritas I told him , “no sir, I’m making Pie”! He gave me a confused lookRead More →

After having a family taco Tuesday, I noticed that there was some extra left over sour cream in the refrigerator. Well since taco Tuesday is now once a month I knew that I just had to put that sour cream in use. Sour cream is a great ingredient in baking or cooking, I especially enjoy it in bake goods such as cakes, and biscuits. I hate to see food go to waste so I searched for recipes with sour cream and of course I chose to go with cake. I found one recipe that seem pretty easy to make but the only problem was thatRead More →

Every now and then I always crave something sweet, sometimes my sweet tooth gets a bit out of hand. So when I am at home I like to bake substituting healthier ingredients into my bake goods. I love having coconut oil on hand whenever possible, its such a great alternative in bake goods. However sometimes using butter is good too. So this week has been a very busy week for me I haven’t had much time for myself but today was an exception. I got home a bit early today and of course tired and all I wanted to have something sweet after my dinner. IRead More →

Making homemade granola can sound like an daunting task, I should know. It never occurred to me that making granola at home is way better than buying it at the store. There are great brands out there that sell granola, but Why should you buy it already made ? I prefer making it at home because I know exactly whats going in my granola, and customizing it is such a fun perk. I decided I wanted to make granola at home after seeing my mother stock up on cheap granola cereals, made with ingredients that I could not understand. I told her to throw them away becauseRead More →
